Basement Jack Reviews Rolling In

We also have a final girl who is vulnerable yet tough right from the start. It’s not a problem for me, but when you think about it, most final girls suddenly become resilient only after all their friends are killed, so it’s kind of cool to have this almost sort of Sarah Connor-y type face a slasher, sort of hunting him throughout the film. – Horror Movie A Day

Scars Magazine, “Laurie Strode with balls”

This is a must see. Director Michael Shelton really kicks ass here and scares the mortal shit out of the viewer. Eric Peter-Kaiser’s portrayal of Jack is creepy, cringe inducing, and completely evil. Michele Morrow is Laurie Strode with balls – she wants Jack dead so her nightmare will be over.

Horror Society Review

Writer Brian Patrick O’Toole and director Michael Shelton also bring out the complex layers of the film’s heroes (played smartly and passionately by Michele Morrow and Sam Skoryna) making this a slasher film with a sensitivity that truly transcends other low budget fright flicks.

Grit and Pragmatism

A new review from the horror community on BASEMENT JACK:
Karen (Michele Morrow)…is a drifter, traveling the road and taking what she needs, including the vehicle of a murdered man who is most likely another hapless victim of Basement Jack. I liked the grittiness and pragmatism of her character, a far cry from the usual weak, [...]

Of Michele’s performance as Karen Cook, the contributor Christina writes:
Also to be noted, even for sheer energy alone, is Michele Morrow, who plays Karen Cook, a survivor of Jack’s first family killing whom Jack is trying to find and kill. No matter [...]

Fangoria Magazine Features Basement Jack

Fangoria Magazine has printed a feature on BASEMENT JACK.

Mr. Horror Review, Basement Jack

Karen Cook (Michele Morrow) is not the dumb, bubbly, idiotic, obnoxious, and hyper-annoying anglo girl we’re used to seeing in most run-of-the-mill indie slasher pictures. She’s witty and sarcastic in her own way.
